This my first attempt at installing lights exclusively for my layout. I decided to go with fluorescent shop lights. I felt that incandescent
lights would generate too much heat in such a confined space.
Here's what I've got so far.

I hid the lights I installed across the floor joists behind a simple Masonite valence.
I hid the other lights between the floor joists. When I'm all finished the layout will have about
1200 watts of lighting and the common area of the basement 400 watts.
Now that the lighting is out of the way, next comes the backdrop.
