Here is the last block of foam I wanted to put in the scene. I wanted there to be a brief transistion from the plains to the mountain.

I painted the grade crossing center pieces a very light gray then gave it a shot of dust. I then glued them with E;mer's Squeeze & Calk and weighted them down.

I finally started putting lines in the road. On the side road I used a combintaion of white and yello artists pencils. I had to mark the the lines using the white pencil first because the yellow wouldn't show up on the road. May be the pencils I was using were too soft. Anyway I was able to get it to work and it out exectly like I wanted. I didn't want the lines to look like the were freshly painted and the pencils gave the lines a worn look.

I tried using the same methods on the main road and I'm not so sure I'm going to use that approach. I'm think I want to have freshly painted lines on the main road so I'll mask the lines using painters masking tape and airbrush them.

Ok. I decided to take the plunge and airbrush the road lines. The first two or three lines are so so but I started to get the hang of it. Here are some shots of my progress tonight.
